An Idaho teacher who disarmed a sixth grader after she opened fire at school earlier this month is breaking her silence for the first time.
Krista Gneiting, a math teacher at Rigby Middle School in the small town of Rigby, about 15 miles northeast of Idaho Falls, was preparing her students for their final exams on the morning of May 6 when she said she heard a gunshot from down the hall. A heroic teacher in Idaho who disarmed a sixth grade girl during a school shooting earlier this month recounted how she hugged the child and called police after taking away the gun.
Krista Gneiting, a math teacher at Rigby Middle School, spoke about the incident which left three people wounded during an interview that aired Wednesday on ABC s “Good Morning America.”
Gneiting said she was in her classroom with students preparing for their final exam when she heard a gunshot from the hallway. She looked outside her classroom and saw the school s janitor lying on the floor, before quickly shutting the door as more shots rang out. ....

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KAIT) - A 15-year-old student accused of fatally shooting his classmate at Watson Chapel Junior High School on March 1 appeared in court on Monday, according to KATV.
Thomas Quarles is being held on a capital murder charge awaiting to be formally charged.
A judge told Quarles a decision on charges he could face from the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney had not been made.
Quarles will be back in court on May 19.
