Arena rock tribute band Hairball headlined at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth for the second evening of music during the Fourth of July weekend. According to Jeff Stark with the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, which manages Bayfront, there were over 8,000 people in attendance for Saturday s show. The band paid tribute to KISS, Van Halen, Twisted Sister and Def Leppard in the first part of its two-hour-long performance. ....

DULUTH, SUPERIOR- After a busy and event-filled Airshow weekend, anticipation is building in the Twin Ports for the return of Fourth of July festivities for a post-pandemic summer.
“We’re excited about the sights, the sounds, the smells, the sights, the fireworks going off in the background,” said Jeff Stark, Director of Bayfront Festival Park.

It was a band that holds the metaphorical key to the city that played one of the last large-scale events in this region before everything was locked down in mid-March 2020.
Wilco’s concert was at Symphony Hall and, according to reviewer Tony Bennett, opened with “Bright Leaves,” featured a solo by Nils Cline “at times playing speedy jazz-rock runs … and at other times letting loose with atonal smears of color and behind the bridge squalls,” and had a guest appearance from Low’s Alan Sparhawk, known friend of the band. ....

The artist Caledonia Curry (professionally known as Swoon) is bringing a house to Union Square.
Previously installed at Brooklyn Bridge Park and Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, the mobile sculpture, “The House Our Families Built,” will be at the Manhattan square’s north plaza on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (it then moves to Prospect Park in Brooklyn on Feb. 27). This installation was commissioned by PBS as part of its storytelling project, American Portrait, which the network established with RadicalMedia to archive narratives about how we construct our identities as Americans. ....
