Sun to be directly above Sri Lanka for 10 days (Photos)

The Meteorological Department states that the sun will be directly above the latitudes of Sri Lanka from today (04) until 14 April.
Accordingly, the sun will be over Thelwatta, Baddegama, Dediyawala, Mulatiyana, Angunakopelessa and Udamalala areas today (05).
The Meteorological Department stated that due to this there could be extreme temperatures in 10 districts which should be taken into consideration.
Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is expected to increase up to ‘Extreme Caution’ level at some places in Mullaitivu, Vauniya, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara and Monaragala districts.
The Heat Index Forecast is calculated by using relative humidity and maximum temperature and this is the condition that is felt on your body. This is not the forecast of maximum temperature. It is generated by the Department of Meteorology for the next day period and ....

The noise generated from anthropogenic activities such as shipping, seismic surveys and offshore wind farms is having a sizable negative effect on countless marine species, according to a new study. Meanwhile, sounds of biological origin are decreasing in volume and frequency due to fishing, hunting and habitat displacement, while other naturally occurring noises are being disrupted by climate change.
While the study finds all of these phenomena can play havoc with the internal compasses of fish and other marine animals, it also suggests a variety of ways in which anthrophony (noises produced by human activity) can be curbed. These potential solutions include redesigning the propellers of vessels, changing their shipping routes, using lower-intensity seismic vibrations and employing acoustic bubble curtains in energy generation stations. ....
