FORT SMITH The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Immaculate Conception Church is about to send its youngest member to kindergarten. Riley Becker began attending the group’s weekly crafters’ meetings when she was only eight weeks old, and as she grew, she became an indispensable helper to the dozens of grandmas there. “Today I filled cups with ice. Last week I helped the cooks and cut ribbons,” Becker said. ....
Angela Chickie Lacerenza, a lifelong Stamford resident, passed away peacefully from natural causes January 7th, 2021 with her family at her side. She was 89 years old. Angela was born in Stamford on September 1, 1931, the youngest of five children born to the late Vincenza Passaro and Louis E. Tosches. She was predeceased in 2015 by her husband of over sixty years, Richard D. Lacerenza. Subscribe Angela graduated from Stamford High School in 1949 and from the University of Bridgeport School of Nursing in 1953. She worked for several years as a Registered Nurse at Greenwich Hospital before starting a family. Angela and Richard met during high school and married in 1955. Throughout their lives, she supported Richard and the family s Stamford business, Lacerenza Funeral Home, even holding a Connecticut Funeral Director s license until Richard s death in 2015. Elizabeth “Betty” D. Casey of Peconic Landing in Greenport died on Dec 8, 2020. She was 95 years old. Born in Marlborough, Mass., Betty was raised and attended schools on Long Island. She worked for 13 years in the public relations department of AT&T in downtown Manhattan, where she was associate editor of the company magazine. After marriage in 1952, she and her husband, Robert, settled in Garden City, where they lived and raised their family for 33 years. In the ’70s she owned and operated a small printing and mailing business in Garden City. Following her husband’s retirement in 1988, they moved to Southold when Bob retired. Betty was a member of the St. Patrick R.C. Church Rosary Altar Society and was a volunteer at Eastern Long Island Hospital. ....
