Synopsis
"Sasikala is not a member of the AIADMK and has no links whatsoever to the party.I myself and AIADMK deputy coordinator K P Munuswamy have already made this amply clear," he told reporters at the party headquarters here.
The AIADMK leader also recalled that Sasikala herself had already announced ahead of the April 6 Assembly polls that she was opting to stay away from politics.
AIADMK top leader K Palaniswami on Friday asserted that the party's stand is that V K Sasikala and her family have no place in it and rebutted claims of differences with party coordinator O Panneerselvam. Denouncing the "bid to create confusion" in the party by leaking audio clips (in which Sasikala indicated that she would revive attempts to regain control of AIADMK), Palaniswami, the party co-coordinator, said such attempts would not succeed. The former Chief Minister said he had no differences with his party colleague O Panneerselvam (OPS)

It is reasonable to expect Dravidian ideology to continue its transformational journey under DMK rule
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has emerged victorious in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, a win that falls short of earlier projections of a landslide but one that can be considered a resounding vindication of its high-voltage Dravidian-values campaign. What do the tumultuous events of the past few months, culminating in the election results, mean for the State and its politics?

Kamal Haasan wilts in Tamil Nadu | India News

The era of film stars dominating TN’s political scene may be over. While Rajinikanth, after a lot of hype, faded, Kamal Haasan, his rival, has barely made a mark. With Vijayakant virtually retired, his party too is on life support.
M G Ramachandran (MGR), was the first to extend his popularity to the political arena. After launching ADMK (later AIADMK) in 1972, he won in 1977, formed the government and was in office till his death in1987. Rajinikanth had a shot at grabbing a sizeable vote share if not power, but he chose to opt out, citing health issues.
Kamal was a surprise package. Until his ‘Viswaroopam’ outbursts, he was a nonaspirant, but the prospects of filling the vacuum created by the absence of Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa and a possibility of outdoing Rajinikanth, at least in politics, drew him in.

Can't inherit reputation: Madras HC to Jayalalithaa's niece | Chennai News

Madras high court
CHENNAI: Can privacy and reputation of a celebrity be inherited by his/her legal heirs like movable or immovable property? No, the Madras high court has said.
Privacy or reputation earned by a person during his or her lifetime extinguishes with death. After the death of a person, the reputation earned cannot be inherited like a movable or immovable property by his or her legal heirs, a division bench of Justice R Subbiah and Justice Sathikumar Sukumara Kurup said on Friday.
The judges made the observations while dismissing an appeal by J Deepa, niece of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, seeking to stop the release of a biopic, 'Thalaivi', apparently based on the life of the former CM.

Court holds that legal heirs cannot inherit such rights
The right to privacy of an individual and the reputation earned during their lifetime extinguishes after death, and therefore, neither of them can be inherited by the legal heirs of the deceased, as is the case with immovable and movable properties. The legal heirs also cannot attempt to protect them through the initiation of legal proceedings, ruled the Madras High Court on Friday.
Justices R. Subbiah and Sathi Kumar Sukumara Kurup passed the ruling while dismissing an appeal preferred by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s niece J. Deepa. The appeal had been filed against a single judge’s refusal to injunct the release of Kangana Ranaut and Arvind Swami-starrer
