Kolkata: B K Birla Group firm Jayshree Tea and Industries (JTIL) is selling two tea estates in Tamil Nadu to one Coimbatore-based group as a part of its restructuring process to strengthen the balance sheet and monitise some assets. Last year, the firm had disposed of two estates in Africa.
In a filing to stock exchanges, the company has said that it has entered into a definitive agreement for selling two estates in Valparai. JTIL, controlled by Jayshree Mohta, the elder daughter of B K Birla, has gardens in India, Uganda and Rwanda. The tea company is also merging its wholly owned subsidiary Majhaulia Sugar Industries as part of the ongoing restructuring. ....

Jay Shree Tea & Industries Ltd. a Birla Group of company reported an all time record cash profit of Rs. 105 crore on Turnover of Rs. 440 crore under the chairmanship of Mrs. Jayashree Mohta.
The company took several measures to streamline its operation in tea, chemicals & fertilisers and treasury. It succeeded in controlling cost on various front. It reduced its debt burden by Rs. 150 crore upto 3rd quarter ended December, 2020. The company is in the process of monetising certain assets and hopeful to be debt free by 2nd quarter of next Year. ....

Birla Institute of Management Technology is organising the BIMTECH Business Literature Festival (BBLF) 2021 on February 6, along with publisher Penguin Random House.
The festival will be inaugurated by Jayashree Mohta, Chairperson, Jay Shree Tea & Industries Ltd, and Chairperson, Board of Governors, BIMTECH.
The keynote address of the virtual festival is by Arun Maira, former member of the Planning Commission, while the valedictory address will be by Shiv Shivakumar, Group Executive President, Corporate Strategy, Aditya Birla group.
