Melbourne have progressed to an AFLW preliminary final with a 17-point win over Fremantle in hot and blustery conditions at Casey Fields.
The Demons led from start to finish on Saturday to score a 5.10 (40) to 3.5 (23) win that moves them into a preliminary final against the Crows in Adelaide.

After three rounds of the 2021 AFL Women’s season, the Brisbane Lions, Collingwood, Fremantle and Melbourne are undefeated.
Down at the other end of the ladder, Richmond, the West Coast Eagles, Gold Coast Suns and Geelong Cats are still yet to get off the mark.
The Eagles’ bid to break their duck does not get any easier when they make a second straight trip east to face the Giants in Sydney, while the Crows will try to bring down the top-of-the-table Lions in the Sunshine Capital.

Collingwood has survived a third-quarter comeback from Carlton to open the AFLW season with a one-goal victory in front of a sell-out crowd at Princes Park.

THE FIRST GOAL of the 2021 Australian Football League Women’s [AFLW] season was kicked by an Irishwoman, with Collingwood’s Cavan star Aishling Sheridan well and truly hitting the ground running.
