SUN-GAZETTE FILE PHOTO The Little League World Series Grand Slam Parade in August has been canceled, but there is a silver lining Williamsport Welcomes the World and Major League Baseball MLB/Little League Classic will be held, Little League and Williamsport/Lycoming County Chamber of Commerce officials said. The Lycoming County Visitors Bureau will not be conducting the parade, said Jason Fink, CEO and president of the chamber in an announcement released Wednesday afternoon. The series runs Aug. 19 through the 29. The two-hour-long parade has traditionally been held Wednesday before the opening ceremonies. It has in the past averaged 20,000 to 40,000 spectators. ....

Joe Hamm, R-Hepburn Township, announced several significant investments for Lycoming County through the Commonwealth Financing Authority on Wednesday. “I was pleased to advocate for all of these projects approved today by the CFA,” Yaw said, according to a news release. “Our legislative advocacy is strong and we are fortunate to have many good local officials who are forward thinking in planning these projects, cleaning up our environment and promoting economic growth for our region. These investments have a positive impact for all residents.” ....
