Its been over two months since Texas State student Jason Landry was last seen. His parents hoped he would be home for Christmas, but he never showed. Now the search for Jason is entering a more large-scale phase. In an update by Texas Search And Rescue (TEXSAR) on Thursday, at the request of the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, TEXSAR says it will be conducting a 3-day search consisting of 100 volunteers searching on foot, along with special teams including search and rescue K9 s trained in human remains detection, the TEXSAR Mounted Search and Rescue Team, UAV/drones, experts in ground search and rescue, side scan sonar, water search resources, and a helicopter search. ....

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office says that although there haven t been many updates in recent weeks, Texas State University student Jason Landry is still missing. The 21-year-old was last seen December 13 when he left his apartment and began driving home to Missouri City, right outside of Houston, to spend the holidays with his family. Investigators have now released the timeline of events they believe to have happened leading up to Jason s disappearance: Jason leaves his San Marcos, TX apartment around 10:55 p.m. At 11:24 p.m. Jason enters the City of Luling and stops using his Waze app to begin using his SnapChat app on his cell phone. ....
A Houston-area native was on his way home from college, when someone found his car crashed and abandoned, but no sign of him. Now his family has this urgent plea. Earlier this month, Texas EquuSearch suspended their efforts to find him, but in an announcement issued by Landry s father, Kent, on social media, he said the search continues, just in a different manner. The search coordinators thought it best if trained searchers looked for him, wrote the father on the Southminister Presbyterian Church s Facebook page. It limited the people that could throw off the scent of Jason s trail. The trained searchers had GPS tracking so they could be certain what areas were searched . They used a drone to do 3D mapping of the area recently. That allows them to search for areas of interest on the computer, then go to that location to check it out. They plan to do another drone search soon. ....

But the search for Jason Landry has turned cold, and Texas EquuSearch is suspending their efforts to find him. Jason, 21, is a Houston native and Texas State student who family members said went missing while en route to Sienna. Jason s Nissan Altima was found Sunday, Dec. 13 just outside of Luling. It had been crashed and abandoned on a road. Luling is about 30 minutes away from San Marcos, where Texas State University is located. ....
