JPS Transitions To Classes 5 Days A Week

The first day of the approved instructional model will be January 19th.
The board approved to transition to Instructional Plan I, after starting the 2020-21 year in a hybrid mode. Elementary school students were attending classes five days a week with middle and high school students attending two days a week and distance learning for three days a week.
The school board changed the hybrid model on November 16th to have middle and high school students in the classroom four days a week.
The school board also approved a sick leave bank program for staff. This allows staff to buy into the bank by contributing two days of personal sick leave. Then, this would grant the ability to draw up to 20 days of sick leave for certain coronavirus related health situations for the remainder of the year. ....
