To the editor: It has been almost a year since our local provider of adult daycare, The Gathering Place (both in Brattleboro and in West Dover), had to close their doors due to COVID-19 restrictions. The director, staff and board of trustees, however, have used those months to make significant upgrades to the physical facilities in anticipation of reopening this year. We are all waiting for the âokayâ from the governor to resume service on site to the community. That will likely begin with only a percentage of spaces opening at a time and working up to eventual full occupancy. ....

BRATTLEBORO â At least one long-term care facility in southern Vermont has been notified it will be receiving COVID-19 vaccines before the end of the year.
According to Dane Rank, administrator at Thompson House in Brattleboro, HealthDirect, the pharmacy services company contracted to administer the vaccine, will be hosting three vaccination clinics there, on Dec. 28, Jan. 18 and Feb. 8.
Staff and residents will be receiving two injections of the Pfizer vaccine 21 days apart, Rank wrote in an email. ....
