McLean County frontline healthcare workers received their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on Friday afternoon. McLean County was not on the state s list of the 50 Illinois counties with the highest death rates per capita.
“We’re excited to be receiving some of McLean County’s first supply of COVID-19 vaccines,” Carle BroMenn Medical Center President Colleen Kannaday said.
“This arrival marks a very important step in the fight against COVID-19 and moving towards a healthier future. While we are still in the tunnel, we can begin to see the light at the end.”
While anticipating the arrival of the vaccine, the McLean County Health Department has been planning with OSF Health Care St. Joseph Medical Center and Carle BroMenn Medical Center for the first shipments for several weeks. ....
