The Commission on Human Rights on Saturday, May 15, 2021, says it will endorse to its regional offices the reports on the alleged fake mass surrender of some 244 communist rebels in Bulacan for investigation. The CHR also urges the military to conduct its own parallel investigation.

On March 29 and March 12, 2021, respectively, Elisa “Tita” Lubi and Jayvee “Jay” Apiag filed a motion before the Davao City Regional Trial Court – Branch 52 to defer the implementation of the arrest warrants issued by the court against them on December 14, 2020, and to conduct further investigations into their cases.
