Leesburg, Boys & Girls Clubs host groundbreaking for teen center

The 10,045-square-foot center will be located next to the gym. And it will be capable of facilitating 50 youth and 100 teens.
It will include 10 multipurpose rooms that will accommodate a range of activities including a career room, sound studio, game area, life skills and learning center. There are also plans for separate outdoor areas for youth and teens.
The new Teen Enrichment Center will also serve as a model for other communities, said Lake County Commissioner Doug Shields.
It s so important that we support young people who truly are our future, Shields said. The Teen Enrichment Center will host recreational, educational and enrichment programs for elementary, middle and high school students. ....

Harris Chain of Lakes Readies to Host Toyota Series Event

LEESBURG, Fla. (March 11, 2021) – The Toyota Series presented by A.R.E. Southern Division will kick off its second event of the 2021 season with a tournament next week in Leesburg, Florida, March 16-18, with the Toyota Series presented by A.R.E. at Harris Chain of Lakes . Hosted by Visit Lake County, Florida, the three-day tournament will feature the region’s best bass-fishing pros and Strike King co-anglers casting for a top prize of up to $65,000, plus an additional $35,000 bonus if the winner is a qualified Phoenix Boat owner.

Classic Yacht racing is back to business as usual on Port Phillip in Melbourne. Solid work put in by Royal Yacht Club of Victoria and Royal Geelong Yacht Club has the Classic Yacht Association of Australia all set to celebrate their first tranche of Covid-19 postponed 14th Cup Regatta Classic yacht races.
