Community R-6 FFA members were recently recognized for their outstanding achievements at the Area V FFA Banquet hosted by the Montgomery County R-II FFA Chapter.

In a game where teams trade runs – 6-0 one way 7-0 the other – it’s often the last run that wins it. That was not Community R-6 on Friday. Despite a promising third quarter spurt that saw the Trojans grab the lead, visiting Slater wound up on top in the end, 51-43.
“Slater is pretty good – that’s first and foremost,” said Community head coach Matthew Thomas. “We just couldn’t hold on.”
The visitors brought both speed and size to the floor, the latter in the form of Jakobie Breshears. A large presence in the paint, he grabbed 13 rebounds and scored on a number of put backs. But the Trojans zone defense was able to disrupt the Wildcats’ outside shooters and keep things close.
