According to the Alliance, the two (as yet unnamed) vehicles badged as Mitsubishi will be produced by Renault in France, though the company would not reveal at which plants they will be manufactured. The vehicles will be based on Renault platforms but with “differentiations that reflect Mitsubishi brand’s DNA”, said the Alliance. Mitsubishi currently has a relatively small share of the European market and does not manufacture vehicles in the region. In July 2020 the Japanese carmaker went so far as to announce it would stop new car development for the European market as part of Alliance plans to reduce model investments across the three companies.
