Ohio deputy facing child pornography charges

COLUMBUS, Ohio A Franklin County deputy who works in the county jail has surrendered to federal authorities after being accused of receiving child pornography.
Daniel P. Heintz, 38, of Columbus, appeared in federal court Wednesday and is charged with advertising for and receiving child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio. If convicted of advertising for child pornography, Heintz could be sentenced up to 30 years in prison. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years if convicted of receiving child pornography.
Court documents show that in mid-August 2020, authorities became aware of online messages sent by Heintz to a man in Illinois. Both discussed a mutual sexual interest in children and exchanged photos of themselves and of child pornography, according to documents. ....

Periodic snow showers should end by late Thursday, with no more than three inches of accumulation, he said. Temperatures should also climb to near freezing by Thursday, so warming shelters may not be as needed and shoveling may become easier as salt treatments become more effective. ....
