Police shut down in-person Genesee County township meeting amid state’s ban on indoor gatherings

THETFORD TWP, MI Michigan State Police broke up a board of trustees meeting Tuesday night in Genesee County for violating the state’s order that restricts in-person meetings when they can be done remotely.
Members of the Thetford Township board of trustees and several audience members gathered at the township hall, 4014 E Vienna Road, for its regular meeting.
About 10 minutes into the meeting, a sergeant from the Michigan State Police Flint post showed up to the meeting after receiving complaints from community members, according to Michigan State Police Lt. Lizabeth Rich. ....
