O.C. Rescue Mission celebrates expansion of facility for homeless veterans

The Orange County Rescue Mission recently finished expanding its Tustin Veterans Outpost, which provides transitional housing for homeless and formerly homeless veterans.
The Tustin-based facility added 45 beds, bringing the total to 71. Now more homeless veterans will be able to take advantage of the facility’s various services, which include case management, mental health services, educational assistance, vocational training, and food and nutrition assistance, among many other services.
“The expansion of Tustin Veterans Outpost will allow us to continue to serve more Veterans in the community,” Jim Palmer, president of the Orange County Rescue Mission, said in a press release. “We were able to purchase the adjacent three fourplexes to the original Veterans Outpost, allowing us to significantly increase overall capacity. We renovated and updated the complex with the help of our donors and the local community.” ....

OC Rescue Mission completes expansion of Tustin Veterans Outpost, its homeless veterans housing facility

Orange County Rescue Mission has recently announced the completion of an expansion project at Tustin Veterans Outpost (TVO), a housing facility that offers transitional housing for homeless or formerly homeless veterans in Orange County, along with veteran specific services including case management, mental health services, educational assistance, vocational training, and food and nutrition assistance, among many other services.
Orange County Rescue Mission along with Oltmans Construction Co., a full service general contracting firm, broke ground on the expansion in early 2020. The completed project adds an additional 45 beds to the housing community bringing its total to 71 beds.

Tustin Nonprofit Expands With Help of Mystery Millionaire
An anonymous $4 million donation has helped a Tustin, California, nonprofit expand a facility that helps homeless veterans get off the streets.
Orange County Rescue Mission began working to expand its Tustin Veterans Outpost site last year after that mystery donation allowed it to realize a long-held dream of growing the center.
“We started talking to the veterans, and their needs were not just shelter, but to have a complete program to be able to address PTSD, health care, and being able to live in a community with other veterans,” Orange County Rescue Mission President Jim Palmer told The Epoch Times. ....
