The University of Kent has launched a competition for architects to design a new £5.5 million Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries in Chatham [Deadline: 3 March 2021]
The winning team selected for the estimated £200,000 contract will create a new ‘eco-friendly, iconic and unique flexible “laboratory” accelerator space’ bringing together students and businesses in the creative, cultural and digital sectors in the historic Medway town.

The ‘Docking Station’ project, planned to complete in 2024, will transform the Grade II-listed Police Section House – overlooking The Historic Dockyard Chatham – into a new ‘simple, sustainable, accessible and flexible’ BREEAM excellent hub for the university which is headquartered in nearby Canterbury. ....
