PAYETTE â Ever since COVID-19 led to the shutdown of the Payette Public Swimming Pool in late March 2020, citizens have been asking city officials when they plan to reopen the facility. At the Payette City Councilâs regular meeting Monday evening, recreation director Tiffany Weimar sought to answer that question.
During her presentation, Weimar stated she aims to reopen the pool in May. In the meantime, however, she told the council that thereâs still much to do.
âIâm a certified pool operator now,â said Weimar. âThat means we can get an inspector to come in actually sign off on the inspection.â
PAYETTE â Residents of Payette have been waiting with bated breath for an announcement regarding the reopening of the Payette Public Pool. While Payette city officials arenât yet ready to make that announcement, the young woman who has taken charge of the facility is poised to get it back in shape for aerobics meets and open swims within the next two months.
At the Payette City Councilâs regular meeting on Monday, newly-hired recreation director Tiffany Weimar shared her plans for the pool among other things. Weimar accepted the job in early February.
âThis is, like, week three for me, so things are moving,â said Weimar. âFirst, I really just want to say thank you to everybody thatâs been super helpful; Mr. Mayor [Jeff Williams] and Bobbie [Black, Deputy Clerk] and Mary [Cordova, City Clerk] and the [other clerk] in the office have been more than willing to be super helpful.â
PAYETTE â After months of searching for a recreation director to reopen the Payette Public Pool and create more recreational opportunities for Payette residents, city officials have announced the selection of Tiffany Weimar as the cityâs new recreation director.
âMs. Weimar graduated from Payette High School and participated in many athletic activities,â wrote Mayor Jeff Williams in an email on Friday. âPrior to accepting this position, she served as an administrative assistant at Capitol Financial Solutions in Payette and is a personal trainer at Trifecta Gym. Recently she also spent time as the [junior varsity] softball coach for Fruitland High School. Tiffany brings experience and a proven track record of success in the Recreation/Fitness area, which will be invaluable in meeting the departmental goals and objectives.â
