IRON MOUNTAIN -Dickinson County Healthcare is honored to be one of only 17 hospitals in Michigan to receive the 2021 Maternity
Care Excellence Award.
For the last two years in a row, and three of the previous four years, Dickinson County Healthcare (DCH) has received the Economic Alliance for Michigan (EAM) Maternity Care Excellence Award! In Iron Mountain, Dickinson County Healthcare earned its fourth consecutive national award for patients’ safety and care.
Leapfrog awarded DCH their highest rank for taking steps beforehand to ensure patients’ safety.
Leapfrog is a national independent watchdog organization.
DCH is a community hospital that has more than 70 active providers and treats over 160,000 patients each year.

Bomb threat called in to DCH

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI Dickinson County Healthcare was closed for a few hours after someone called in a bomb threat Monday night.
Around 8:40 p.m. Iron Mountain Police and Fire departments were dispatched to the hospital on Stephenson Avenue. Officers were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Kingsford Public Safety, and the Marquette Police Department with an explosive-detecting K-9 unit.
Police conducted a thorough search of the building but no bomb was found. Officers cleared the scene around 2 a.m.
Anyone with information regarding the threat is asked to call the Iron Mountain Police Department at 906-774-1234. ....

Five elected to 2021 Chamber of Commerce board | News, Sports, Jobs

IRON MOUNTAIN –The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce membership have chosen five directors for its 15-member board.
All are elected for a three-year term. They are:
Teresa Schettler, public relations/marketing specialist, Dickinson County Healthcare System. Schettler is the board’s vice president, a post she retains, and is committed to the Chamber vision. She also has been a Chamber ambassador since 2014.
Matthew Lutz, chief financial officer, First National Bank & Trust. Lutz has been on the Chamber board for four years as well as serving on other local boards of directors and nonprofits and actively participates in Chamber and community events. He has a strong financial background and is on the Accounting Advisory Board for Bay College; treasurer for the Dickinson Area Community Foundation; a Chamber ambassador; and a Habitat for Humanity volunteer, along with other posts. Lutz also was elected board treasurer. ....
