Amazon looking at Ashford for new style delivery depot
Amazon is thought to be looking at a new style delivery depot in Ashford, Kent, similar to the ones at Peterborough Gateway and Tyelsey following a grnat of planning permission.
Proposlas for the new £34 million depot on GSE Developments’ Waterbrook Park were given the go-ahead in a virtual planning committee meeting in January.
At present the scheme is being  described as being pre-let as a ‘parcel distribution centre’ but the site has been linked with Amazon in the past.
The proposals are closely aligned to those previously confirmed as being let to Amazon and include decked van storage areas for a fleet of electric vans (614) as well as multiple launch bays, van waiting bays and cage bays. The warehouse totals 127,186 sq ft and has 14.5m eaves. ....
