With 3 weeks to go, Dallas Morning News Charities has raised over $1 million for North Texans in need
Grant Moise, publisher of The Dallas Morning News, said Friday that meeting the $1 million mark allows the organization to help serve a growing need during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dallas Morning News Charities announced that it has surpassed the $1 million mark in fundraising for North Texas nonprofits.
In a year when the demand on food banks and charitable organizations has increased dramatically due to the coronavirus pandemic, the funds raised will go to help North Texas nonprofits that address homelessness and hunger. ....

North Texas Food Bank, local pantries prepare to lose millions of pounds of food in 2021
Deep losses from three government programs will result in a deficit of 22 million pounds of food, according to the North Texas Food Bank.

The North Texas Food Bank and its more than 200 partners are expecting to lose about 22 million pounds of food next year as they struggle to meet unprecedented needs without resources from three key government programs.
Concerns about the reductions come as coronavirus cases and hospitalizations are reaching their highest levels ever and other relief programs are running out, including a national eviction moratorium that is expiring at the end of the year. ....
