Eddie Gossage, longtime TMS president, to step down


Gossage made the announcement via a release from Texas Motor Speedway. 
Gossage has worked at Speedway Motorsports for nearly three decades with much of that time spent at Texas Motor Speedway. The All-Star race will be at Texas for the first time in its history on June 13.
“The timing just feels right after 32 years with the company,” Gossage said in a statement. “The Smith family and Speedway Motorsports changed my life and I will forever be appreciative and grateful. Before my wife Melinda and I chart our next adventure, I’m thankful that I get to come full circle as a promoter with the NASCAR All-Star Race.” ....

Texas Motor Speedway to host the state's largest drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine hub


DENTON, Tx (WFAA) - Starting Tuesday, Texas Motor Speedway will be home to the largest drive-thru vaccine clinic in Texas, and possibly in the country, Judge Andy Eads said Monday. The site aims to distribute vaccines to 10,000 people in a day.
The first clinic starts Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. for people who are already registered through Denton County and have an appointment. Two more clinics are planned to open at 7:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday, as well.
“We’ve got the space and they’ve got the supply so it’s the right place, right time. It’s always the right time to do the right thing,” said Texas Motor Speedway President and General Manager Eddie Gossage, of the partnership with Denton County. ....
