Man who smuggled 52 immigrants ID d in federal court

The truck driver accused of transporting 52 immigrants has been identified in a Laredo federal court.
Sedrick Smith, of Austin, was arrested and charged with transport, attempt to transport and conspire to transport immigrants who were in the country illegally.
An off-duty Laredo Police Department officer spotted people being loaded into a green tractor hauling a white trailer with a blue stripe on Andy Ramos Road in the Tex-Mex Industrial Park off of Bob Bullock Loop. The off-duty cop relayed information to LPD dispatch on the last known location of the 18-wheeler. ....
