The DCNR
HARRISBURG State Parks Director John Hallas announced the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking proposals to operate a downhill ski and four-season recreation center at Denton Hill State Park in Potter County.
Denton Hill includes a downhill ski area that has been closed since the winter of 2014. A new master plan for the park includes infrastruture improvements to the ski area and positions a concessionaire to grow recreational opportunities in all four seasons.
DCNR is committing $10 million in capital improvements to support the implementation of a master plan for the park.
“The department is seeking a concessionaire to lease approximately 700 acres and work with DCNR to create a year-round park operation with a winter mountain recreation focus,” Hallas said. “DCNR believes with infrastructure improvements and the right partner Denton Hill will become another attraction that brings visitors to the Pennsylvania Wilds ....

Downhill skiing could return to Denton Hill State Park in Potter County in the near future.
The park’s downhill area has been closed since winter 2014, but the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking proposals from potential operators to bring downhill skiing back to the park and to increase operations as a year-round recreation center.
A new master plan for the park includes infrastructure improvements to the ski area expected to position a concessionaire to grow recreational opportunities of the site.

New FirstNet emergency wireless communication sites launch in Northern Tier


Northern Tier, Pa. – First responders are getting a boost in their wireless communications with the addition of new, purpose-built FirstNet cell sites. The new infrastructure is part of a FirstNet expansion taking place across Pennsylvania, expanding coverage, capacity, and capabilities for public safety uses.
New FirstNet cell sites have launched in these locations:
Potter County: A site serving the Route 6 corridor between Coudersport and Telescope, the Pennsylvania State Troop F barracks, the Potter County Family Campground, and parts of Denton Hill State Park.
Tioga County: A site in Elkland serves the borough, the Route 49 corridor along the north side of the county, and the Route 85 corridor through Woods Corner in Steuben County, N.Y. ....
