MM 5.20: Maryland softball’s Jaeda McFarland named Big Ten Freshman of the Year

Maryland softball outfielder Jaeda McFarland became the first Terp to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Year the conference announced on Wednesday.
The Florida native ranks in the top-10 in the conference for runs scored (24), triples (four), stolen bases (13), runs scored in a single game (three) and fielding percentage (1.000). Her runs scored total rank ninth in the conference, triples rank fourth, stolen bases rank seventh, runs scored in a single game rank second and McFarland’s fielding percentage leads the Big Ten.
