One of them even worked in a local Rhinebeck restaurant (The Terrapin) while they were going to school in Hyde Park. Rhinebeck Restaurant Temporarily Closed Due to Covid It’s true that the global pandemic seems to be winding down, and people are starting to get vaccinated, but we’re certainly not out of the woods. They’ve been telling us that for weeks. Case in point: a popular Rhinebeck restaurant is closing its doors for at least a few days because one of their employees has tested positive for Covid. Terrapin Restaurant on Route 9 in Rhinebeck has decided to close their doors for a few days because one of their staff had a positive Covid result. The staff member wore a mask at all times and last worked on Friday, Feb. 26. On the Terrapin facebook page, Chef Kroner made this statement regarding the closing. “We’re confident we’ve done everything possible to make Terrapin a safe place for both our staff and our community. While we wish it wasn’t the case, we’ve decided the best thing we can do at this time is to temporarily close our doors, make sure the rest of our staff is heal

Indoor Dining Returns to Popular Rhinebeck Restaurant We’ve had so many reports of restaurants closing, both temporarily and permanently, due to the covid pandemic. How about I tell you something refreshing for a change? Like the news that one of our favorite restaurants is back to indoor dining after about two weeks of only offering take-out. Back on or about Jan. 11, Terrapin Restaurant in Rhinebeck announced that for the safety of their staff, customers and the community, they would be closing their dining room for a little while and move to take-out only. It was the right decision, but we were all a little bummed out by the news. Well, I’m happy to tell you that as of today, Terrapin’s indoor dining spaces are open once again.

Another Dutchess County Brewery Closed Due to Covid It was only a few days ago that Millhouse Brewing in Poughkeepsie announced that they were temporarily closing due to covid exposure. Well, now you can add yet another popular Dutchess County Brewing Company to the list of temporary closures. The Hyde Park Brewing Company on Route 9 in Hyde Park made an announcement on facebook today that there has been an exposure at the restaurant and they would be closing their doors immediately and they hope to reopen on Jan. 29. The post explained that their priority is to keep both customers and staff safe, and they feel that they can resume operations safely by Jan. 29. We look forward to the reopening of the Hyde Park Brewing Company so that we can all enjoy a Big Easy Blonde.
