Meet Maghera s newest young reporter Connor has been conducting interviews for his local newsletter. Reporter: ); ); A young reporter who has taken a County Derry town by storm through his contribution to a series of community newsletters says he has the best job in the world . Connor Dorrity, a P3 pupil at St Mary s PS, Maghera, first got involved when Maghera Cross Community Link, where he attends an after-school club, launched a community newsletter last year. The Maghera Hustle was met with approval throughout the community, with Connor s interviews with local business owners catching the eye. “I was excited to interview them,” he told the County Derry Post. ....

Reporter: ); ); Despite the unorthodoxy of the environment that has dogged the world for over a year, there is a comfortingly familiar sight in Maghera. The red glow of tail lights shepherds motorists down Coleraine Road to the traffic lights, the sound of their engines reverberating off the closed shutters of Walsh s Hotel. A khaki-clad mannequin stares ominously from the window of Crawford Field Sports, a silent sentry keeping watch on the crossroads. Through the filter of early Spring, you d be forgiven for thinking normality had returned. The sight of a woman rushing across the road, face visor steaming up with the effort, shatters the mirage. ....
Serious safety fears over footbridge across A6 Residents have expressed concern after temporary lighting on the bridge was removed. Reporter: ); ); A County Derry community has raised serious safety concerns after temporary lighting on a footbridge across the A6 dual carriageway was removed last week. The footbridge, servicing the Broagh Road, Castledawson, was erected after A6 dualling work effectively cut the road in half, making access to the southern side of the carriageway difficult. Temporary lighting was installed on the bridge to allow residents to visit relatives on the far side of the road, and allow access to the local GAA club, St Malachy s GAC. ....
