COLUMBIANA City Manager Lance Willard announced at Tuesday’s council meeting that the issue with the gas aggregation supplier going out of market which broke contract has been resolved. Efforts to reverse charges were successful after the city made objections. Willard explained that he is happy to announce that adjustments will be made. “They are going to abide by that contract which is a fixed rate and our residents will get money back one way or another on their accounts,” Willard said. In other business, Ron Detwiler, Park Recreation and Cemetery Board president, said there are eight current projects at Firestone Park. Two more projects will take place this summer. ....
Dec 23, 2020 A suspect in an Oklahoma City murder is under arrest. 62-year-old Terry Shaffer was apprehended yesterday in Lincoln County. Authorities say Shaffer killed a woman at a home near Henney Road and Memorial Road on Monday night. Oklahoma City police, U.S. Marshals and other local agencies assisted in capturing Terry Shaffer, 62, in Lincoln County. The man on the run was captured about 20 miles from where Oklahoma City police responded to a domestic call Monday evening. “The calling party indicated that there was a male there,” said MSgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “Terry Shaffer who was very upset and upon further interviewing the reporting person, it was determined that Mr. Shaffer told this person or indicated that he harmed someone in a trailer.” ....
A man accused in a homicide near Jones has been detained, Oklahoma City police said Tuesday afternoon. The suspect was on the run Tuesday morning and was caught near Highway 177 and Route 66 by Oklahoma City police and U.S. Marshals. According to authorities, Terry Shaffer is wanted in connection with a homicide that took place Monday night on Henney Road between the Turner Turnpike and Memorial Road. Police say Shaffer was driving a champagne colored 2007 Chevy Silverado with black running boards and the tag number EAN924. Shaffer was taken to a local hospital to be checked out for non-life-threatening injuries he suffered after police used force to detain him, police said. ....
