Now, the twin towns’ civic administration has started a special drive only for industries under its jurisdiction to identify any instances of unregistered properties on their grounds. Commenting on the development, PCMC deputy commissioner Smita Zagade confirmed, “We have started this drive for industries to identify properties that were not registered with PCMC records earlier. There are an estimated nearly 3,500 industrial units that have extended constructions on their campuses without the permission of the civic administration.” ....

The policy has been approved by the standing committee of PCMC on February 4 and work directions are expected to be issued to contractors in seven days. According to the proposal, parking charges would be Rs 5/hour for two and three-wheelers, Rs 10 for cars and tempos, Rs 25 for trucks and minibuses and Rs 100 for private buses and heavy vehicles. ....
