A serious view has been taken as the subregistrar offices ( property registration offices) under the IGR are sensitive offices as lakhs of properties are registered and the ownership transferred. Now, the twin towns’ civic administration has started a special drive only for industries under its jurisdiction to identify any instances of unregistered properties on their grounds. Commenting on the development, PCMC deputy commissioner Smita Zagade confirmed, “We have started this drive for industries to identify properties that were not registered with PCMC records earlier. There are an estimated nearly 3,500 industrial units that have extended constructions on their campuses without the permission of the civic administration.” ....
