three local gyms in February for
Torture Your Trainer. Each of the gyms had jars accompanied by a trainerâs photo. For every dollar donated into their jar, that trainer would have to do one burpee â a full-body exercise consisting of squats and planks.
Crossroads Fitnessâ fundraiser brought in $1,152, according to a United Way news release. One trainer was forced to do to 591 burpees.
Fruita Health Club, 743 U.S. 6, finished its fundraiser on Feb. 28.

Delta County Memorial Hospitalâs (DCMH) Grand Mesa Oncology, Hematology and Infusion Center is excited to welcome its newest physician, Ann Hedderman, M.D. to the team. Hedderman specializes in hematology, the study and treatment of blood diseases, and brings more than 20 years of experience and a background in rural healthcare.
Hedderman is from upstate New York and attended medical school at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics before practicing medicine in Indiana. Originally planning to become a thoracic surgeon, Hedderman was drawn to the rapidly expanding field of internal medicine.
âAfter deciding not to go into surgery I did a Hematology rotation [during my medical internship] and am fascinated by blood diseases,â said Hedderman. âItâs exciting to see the new sets of targeted therapies happening for diseases that previously didnât have treatment options.
