Water supply restored in maximum affected areas, says Delhi Jal Board 
Water supply was restored to around 90 per cent of the areas affected by a pipeline repair work in the trans-Yamuna region on Monday morning, even as some residential colonies complained of getting dirty and smelly water. The supply was hit in many localities of east and north-east Delhi over the weekend due to the repair undertaken by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
Water supply resumed this (Monday) morning after two days. But the water was dirty and smelly, and not fit for drinking, said Laxmi Nagar resident Pawan Kumar. ....

Attention Delhiites! Water supply to be hit in several areas till Sunday evening

New Delhi: The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has informed that the water supply will be hit in several areas in the national capital till Sunday (March 14, 2021) evening.
The water supply has been affected, particularly in East Delhi, due to repair and interconnection work, the DJB informed.
They said, Several residents of Vikas Kunj, reported major leakages in the GK main which led to water entering the basement of their homes, causing a threat to the building/structure/property. Taking immediate cognisance of the situation, DJB started the repair/interconnection work.
The Delhi Jal Board added, This repair work has had an adverse impact on the water supply, particularly in East Delhi. This repair work may take a few more hours, after which water supply shall be restored - most likely by today evening. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. ....

In the aftermath of the Uttarakhand disaster, Delhi is likely to face water shortage for few days as water treatment plants are working at reduced capacity. 
According to the Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman and AAP MLA Raghav Chadha, turbidity had increased to unprecedented levels of 8,000 Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU). The normal seasonal concentration is less than 100 NTU. Debris, silt and mud in the water are behind high NTU.
The DJB s Sonia Vihar and Bhagirathi Water Treatment Plants are working at reduced capacity. This could affect water supply in parts of South, East and North East Delhi. Chadha, however, assured that necessary measures including deployment of water tankers were being made to meet the shortage of supply. ....

Water supply in various parts of the national capital will be affected on Wednesday due to high ammonia levels in the Yamuna. In a statement, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said water production has been curtailed at Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla water treatment plants. The supply in the region will be affected until ammonia levels in the river reduce to a treatable limit.
As the level of ammonia in the Yamuna at Wazirabad pond is high and on an increasing trend, water production has been curtailed at Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla water treatment plants, the utility said.  ....
