Pilar-Mejia allegedly told the detective she had no issues entering the narcotics into a Florida state prison facility while discussing future cocaine transactions, the report states.
Miami-Dade Bond Court Judge Renatha Francis set Pilar-Mejia s bond at $62,500. She faces charges of cocaine trafficking and unlawful compensation, among others.
“The allegations are pretty serious. You were trying to smuggle drugs into a prison facility,” Francis said.
Patrick Manderfield, press secretary for Florida Department of Corrections sent a statement to NBC on the matter,
“The actions of this officer are unacceptable and do not reflect the thousands of correctional officers who work every day serving our communities. We commend our Inspector General’s Office and our partners at the Miami-Dade Police Department for their diligent investigation and arrest.”  ....
