School district proposes clinic to provide vaccinations to educators Community Content The towns of Marion, Rochester and Mattapoisett, along with the Old Rochester Regional School District and Massachusetts School Superintendency Union #55, are proactively proposing a regional COVID-19 vaccination clinic for tri-town educators. If approved and supplied by the state, implementation of the plan will provide the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to an estimated 1,192 educators during a two-day period. The plan, spearheaded by the town of Marion, in partnership with the towns of Rochester and Mattapoisett and the Old Rochester Regional School District, and with the support of Rep. Bill Straus, D-10th Bristol, is being designed in anticipation of the state s progression through Phase Two of its vaccine distribution plan. ....
Mar 6, 2021 Emma Zhou of Tabor Academy’s “Connections or Lack Thereof” will be featured by the MAC MARION The Marion Art Center will be opening a new exhibit, the High School Art Show, with a virtual reception on March 12. Student artists featured in the gallery come from Old Rochester Regional High School, New Bedford High, Tabor Academy, and ORR Junior High. The exhibit features works by nearly thirty young artists. The MAC is also working with Tri-Town Against Racism to showcase entries to the anti-racist organization’s recent creative expression contest held during Black History Month, based on the theme “Beyond Martin and Rosa”. ....
Mar 4, 2021 To the editor, In his opinion piece, Mr. Waterman, vice chairman of the Select Board, alleged that he has followed the Tabor Academy hearings of the Hayden Library and new Campus Center. He singled out “certain Planning Board members” for criticism because they had “ chosen to make an issue out of Tabor parking” and they “insist on a number of places for electric car charges.” Mr. Waterman, I take my Planning Board responsibilities seriously and protect and act in the best interests of the Town, as do my Planning Board colleagues. And like my colleagues, I have attended many continuation education forums, meetings, conferences, and study groups on a variety of topics from zoning, housing, transportation, economic development, land use, natural resources, telecommunication, photovoltaics on landfills, climate change vulnerability assessment and adaptation strategies. We attend meetings on our own time. ....
