An Elon Law legal writing professor has been elected for a two-year term to the governing body of a national organization that promotes cultural competency and social justice within the legal profession.
Assistant Professor Tiffany Atkins L’11 officially joined this month the Board of Governors of the Society of American Law Teachers, a community of law teachers, law school administrators, librarians, academic support experts, students and affiliates “working for more than 40 years to improve the legal profession, the law academy and expand the power of law to under-served communities.” ....

Elon Law grad's work with "People Not Property" earns her school's top award for leadership | Education


An Elon University School of Law alum who led local efforts to transcribe and digitize hundreds of “slave deeds,” thereby helping the public to learn more about the lives of enslaved people in antebellum Greensboro, is the 2020 recipient of the law school’s most prestigious honor for new graduates.
Julianna Kober, former president of the law school’s pro bono “People Not Property” Project, was recognized December 12 at Elon Law’s 13th Commencement ceremony with the David Gergen Award for Leadership & Professionalism.
Elon Law students are nominated for the award by their peers, professors, or staff. Honorees are selected by a faculty and staff committee based on law school activities that represent the twin principles of leadership and professionalism. ....
