NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI – Jacob Silver, 79, of Negaunee Township, died early Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021, at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living Memory Support, with his loving wife, Candace Worthington, at his side and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, May 13th at 2 p.m. in the Marks Section of Park Cemetery with Dr. Daniel Arnold of Temple Beth Sholom officiating.

MARQUETTE, MI – Peter Bloukos, age 92, passed peacefully in his sleep on May 10, 2021. He was a resident of the Jacobetti Home for Veterans. Peter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Florence Froney Bloukos, his daughters, Loren Blake, Andrea Bloukos and her husband Mike Billingsley, his grandchildren Kelly Sprouse, Sam Billingsley, Bailey Tucker, and Nikki Lazarski, and his brother George Bloukos and his family.
Peter was drawn to the entertainment business when he was very young, living in Brooklyn, New York. After his service to his country as a combat medic and purple heart recipient during the Korean war, he happily returned home to pursue a career in entertainment. Peter was employed by CBS in New York City and spent many years entertaining people and making great friendships in the business while doing stand-up comedy and tap dance performances in the greater New York area. MARQUETTE, MI – Dr. Carl F. Hammerstrom Jr., 84, of Marquette, died on Tuesday morning, April 20, 2021, surrounded by his family and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice at the Trillium Hospice House.
Carl was born April 23, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of Carl F. and Mary (Metcalf) Hammerstrom, Sr.
He graduated from the Phillips Exeter Academy in 1954, Harvard University in 1958 and Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1962.
He was drafted in December of 1967 and served his country as an Army Medical Officer with the US Army Fifth General Hospital, Bad Cannstatt Germany FROG from 1968-1971.
