FORMER Mumbo Jumbo and Jimmy’s Big Fish frontman Simon Holmes has used time in lockdown to reflect and develop new music under the name December62. Produced by English musician, composer and songwriter, Nick Coler, Simon has produced a slew of new material, with the first track released earlier this month. Nick, an award-winning songwriter, musician and producer, has played on hit songs for acts ranging from Goldie, KLF, and Alice Cooper to Girls Aloud, Sugababes, and Gabriella Cilmi. The first of the songs, If I Can t Have You, was released on Friday May 7, and made available on all streaming platforms. ....

Simon first found the love for music back at Solent Middle School and joined Mr Fessey’s guitar club. He asked for a drum kit for Christmas and spent a lot of time with his brother in the family home making up songs and playing along with his Dad’s records on his loud stereo. The podcast reached the number two position in the Apple Podcast Chart and it has now spawned a festive TV show fronted by Dyke, who is well known on the Isle of Wight for his shows on local radio. Filmed in a TV studio in Guildford Stars Cars Guitars – Talking Christmas is being broadcast on Talking Pictures TV today. It features Dyke’s regular cohorts on the podcast the former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, and Jim Cregan, the guitarist who played with Rod Stewart for more than 20 years. ....
