Dorchester Co. Schools announce new reopening plan

DORCHESTER CO., Md. – Dorchester County Public Schools Superintendent released an update on Friday regarding the reopening of schools.
W. David Bromwell says he and other school officials are concerned about students not being in school and have reconvened with their re-opening committee chairs to come up with a slight shift to allow every student who wishes to go to school be able to see their teacher in person at least one day per week. We’re told the plan also allows for the D group to return four days a week.
Dorchester County Public Schools are aiming to have approximately 25% of each schools’ population in school from Tuesday through Friday, with Mondays remaining asynchronous. ....

Dorchester Co. Schools to remain virtual until Feb. 1st

DORCHESTER CO., Md. – Dorchester County Public Schools Superintendent W. David Bromwell says the district will remain all virtual until at least Monday, February 1st.
This is due to the current county positivity rate of 11.6% and case rate of 90.4 per 100,000.
In a statement, Bromwell says “Your frustration with this situation is shared by me as well as all of us at Dorchester County Public Schools. We want nothing more than to be able to start bringing students back into our buildings safely. Anticipating this day, the Executive Team and I have been working on a new plan to ensure as many of our students are able to receive some amount of in-person instruction as soon as it is safely possible.” ....
