(WCSC) - Dorchester School District Two wants to hear from parents and members of the community on next yearâs budget plans. As district officials work to solidify budget plans for next year, they say several new plans are in the works. DD2 CFO Tina Meunier says the district will be hosting a public input session to discuss these plans at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Meunier says the district is looking at about a 10% increase in the number of teachers they typically hire. She says this is possible thanks to the emergency relief funding for elementary and secondary schools recently received from the federal government. ....

The largest recipient of funding in the state was Prisma Health-Upstate with a total of $131 million. The average loan size in the city was $106,226 while the state s average loan amount was $258,718. Of the money distributed, $30 billion went out automatically to health providers based on previous year medicare payments. If the money wasn t returned within 90 days the provider is then automatically entered into the repayment terms that are issued by HHS. (WCSC) - Summerville High School says renovations to their historic Memorial Stadium and McKissick Field are currently underway. Summerville High School Athletic Director Brion Rutherford says the key component of the renovation is the installation of their new synthetic turf field. He says this is a lengthy process they started last week. Rutherford says the renovations are a joint project between Dorchester County, the Town of Summerville, and Dorchester School District Two. Ultimately, he says he expects the improvements to the field and stadium to not just benefit the school, but the entire community. ....
