Portsmouth is getting a $12.88 million slice of the $1.9 trillion American Relief Plan funds passed by Congress. Dover and Rochester, both with much larger populations than Portsmouth, are getting significantly less. Dover is set to receive $7.5 million and Rochester $6.1 million. The entire package of money coming to New Hampshire includes about $1.4 billion, announced this week by Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan and Reps. Chris Pappas and Annie Kuster. The resources are in addition to the $1.25 billion that the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act provided New Hampshire to compensate for COVID-19 emergency response efforts.
