Templeboy woman Róisín Kilgannon has won a national award for volunteering.
She was a winner in the Arts, Culture and Festivals category in the national Volunteer Ireland Awards for her commitment to Dromore West Sings. When COVID-19 hit, Róisín (a music teacher and entertainer who had to move back home to Dromore West from Cork) wanted to put together an online concert of some sort to entertain the people in the area.
In creating the concept of Dromore West Sings , which was for Pieta House - Roisin brought together a very large group of people to create an event for the local community, the county, the country and around the world (people were tuned in from all over the world to watch this event taking place in the small rural village. ....
