Lansing police identify man, woman killed in weekend homicide
Police found Kelsey Cross Coon-Lennon, 29, and Harley Thomas Owens, 39, dead in a residence in the 600 block of Baker Street at about 2 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Lansing Police Department. 
Public Information Director Robert Merritt said he was unsure of what relationship, if any, the two had. Both are from Lansing. 
No arrests had been made as of Monday morning and the investigation is ongoing. 
Police responded to the Baker Street home on a report of a shooting, according to a news release. 
“This is truly a tragedy, said Lansing Police Chief Daryl Green in the release. LPD will leverage every resource and partnership it has to hold accountable any persons involved, as a community we owe this to the victims and their families. ....

One LPD officer fired, two keep their jobs after Baker Street arrest


LANSING  A Lansing Police Department officer has been fired for escalating a situation in November. 
Officer Alex Rojas was terminated after an internal investigation found he caused other officers to use higher levels of force during a Nov. 10 arrest, Police Chief Daryl Green said in a statement. 
The other two officers, Alec Slobin and Morgan Schafer, were not fired. Asked what the internal investigation found regarding the other two officers, LPD Public Information Director Robert Merritt said he did not have the information.

All three officers were placed on paid administrative leave while Michigan State Police and the Ingham County Prosecutor investigated the incident. The prosecutor did not file charges against the officers, but said their actions were concerning in March. ....

Lansing police identify 19-year-old man killed in Sunday shooting
Correction: An earlier version of this story spelled Adrian Price s name wrong based on incorrect information the Lansing Police Department provided. 
LANSING  Lansing police have released the identity of a 19-year-old man who was killed in a shooting Sunday morning. 
Public Information Director Robert Merritt said the man s name is Adrian Price. 
Police responded to a shooting at 7:21 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of West Allegan Street. Price was not on scene, Merritt said. 
He was later found in a vehicle on Interstate 496 near the Pennsylvania Avenue exit and was taken to the hospital, where he later died Merritt said. Police found the vehicle after they were called about a two-vehicle crash.  ....

Prosecutors: Force LPD officers used in arrest not criminal


LANSING  Ingham County prosecutors have declined to file charges against three Lansing Police Department officers accused of using excessive force during an arrest in November. 
The three officers  Alex Rojas, Alec Slobin and Morgan Schafer  were on paid administrative leave while Michigan State Police and the prosecutor s office investigated. A bystander caught part of the arrest on camera. 
Prosecutors called the officers actions during the arrest concerning, but said it did not rise to the level of criminal charges being warranted. 
While much of the police behavior was concerning in light of our changing societal norms, and historical wrongs, the officers’ actions did not rise to the level of a violation of the criminal law, when reviewed in light of laws and policies in place at the time of this event, Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Mike Cheltenham wrote in a memo to MSP.  As (the man) increased his level of resistance, the officers were leg ....
