Chengxi Shipyard bags eight woodchip carriers from BOC Leasing

CSSC Chengxi Shipyard and the Bank of Communications Financial Leasing have entered into the shipbuilding contract for the construction of eight woodchip carriers.
The deal consists of six 64,000 tonne woodchip carriers and two 70,000 tonne woodchip carriers.
Since its first contracts in 2017, Bank of Communications Financial Leasing had ordered sixteen vessels from Chengxi Shipyard in four years. ....

Two 8,500 TEU scrubber-fitted boxships delivered to Seaspan
Seaspan Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlas Corp., has taken delivery of two 8,500 TEU containerships.
The ships are arranged on a long-term charter with a global liner. Further details, including the name of the liner, were not disclosed in the statement.
To remind, the vessel pair was purchased in April this year.

Although Seaspan has not revealed the seller of the ship duo, VesselsValue’s (VV) data suggest that the boxships were bought from China’s Bank of Communications Financial Leasing.
The vessels in question are Gulf Bridge and Mediterranean Bridge built in 2011 by Hyundai Samho Heavy Ind., and commercially controlled by Sinokor. ....

Høglund wins new contract to deliver Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS) for Bank of Communications Financial Leasing (BoComm Leasing)-owned LR II tankers chartered by Shell.
Høglund, a leading global marine solutions and system integration expert, announced that it has been awarded a contract to deliver Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS) for four LNG-fuelled LR II 119,900 DWT crude and product oil tankers.

In partnership with Guangzhou Shipyard International, Høglund will design, supply and deliver the FGSS for the vessels - owned by China Bank of Communications Financial Leasing (BoComm Leasing) and chartered by Shell - between December 2021 and August 2022; delivery of first and last vessel, respectively. ....

Chinese shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group has won a contract to build two 24,000 TEU ultra large containerships, the world’s largest boxships and the largest containerships to be built by the yard.
The ships, being built for an unnamed owner, will feature optimized hull designs, high-efficiency propellers and energy-saving technology. They will meet the EEDI Phase III requirements.
The ships will be fitted with hybrid scrubbers and will run on traditional fuels. ....
