Family pay tribute to 'truly remarkable' woman, 27, killed after being hit by a police car responding to 999 call

TRIBUTES have been paid today to the remarkable woman killed after being hit by a police car on Friday.
Kimberley Cameron, 27, died after being struck by the car rushing to a 999 call, while she was walking in Aylesbury, Bucks.

It is thought she may have been trying to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing.
Her family thanked a member of the public who tried to save her and comforted Kimberley before she tragically died.
They said: “Kimberley was a very much loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece. ....

Pedestrian, 25, dies after being hit by police car responding to another crash
A woman was killed when she was hit by a police car that was responding to a call about another car crash.
The pedestrian, 25, died at the scene on the A41 between Paradise Orchard and Jackson Road in Aylesbury at 5.50pm yesterday, despite the best efforts of medical professionals.
The police vehicle involved was responding to a separate crash in nearby Waddesdon at the time.
The A41 was closed in both directions as a result of both collisions for several hours.
The next of kin of the woman who has died have been notified and are being supported by specially trained officers. ....

Nearly 1,000 lockdown fines handed out in Thames Valley

ALMOST 1,000 fines have been handed out by Thames Valley Police for lockdown breaches since restrictions came into force, figures reveal.
Between March 27 and December 20 last year, 965 fixed penalty notices were issued by the force covering everything from not wearing a mask to mass gatherings, according to data from the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC).
It also shows 32,329 fines, which can range anywhere from £60 to £10,000, were given by all forces in England and Wales under coronavirus regulations during this period. Of these, 80 per cent were given to those aged between 18 and 39.
In the Thames Valley, 771 were issued for breaches of Covid laws brought in during the first few months of the pandemic, 73 were linked to the tier system, and 97 to the national lockdown which began in November. ....

New Covid laws will be fully enforced warns Chief Superintendent
People who wilfully and blatantly ignore the lockdown laws will face heavy fines that will be rigorously enforced says the Gold Commander for Thames Valley Police’s response to Coronavirus.
In a statement released today Chief Superintendent Robert France said: “Our officers will continue to engage, explain and encourage people to abide by the restrictions. Where people have genuinely misunderstood the rules, or where there is an element of complexity, a simple reminder of the regulations is often enough for them to comply.
“However, where we encounter people who are wilfully and blatantly ignoring the laws around Coronavirus we will look to enforce. ....
