Cascade County nonprofits to receive $25,800 from Federal Emergency Management Agency

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - Cascade County is set to receive more emergency food and shelter funding. The United Way of Cascade County is set to distribute $25,823 to help boost non-profit funding this spring.
Eligible organizations could apply online to receive some of that money through the national Emergency Food and Shelter program. A local board of representatives from the American Red Cross, Opportunities Inc., and the Salvation Army are working to directly buy food and provide shelter for low-income and homeless people in the area.
Local farmers and ranchers hope people in outlying towns like Monarch, Neihart, Sun River, and Vaughn turn to them for support as well. ....

SAN ANTONIO – The migrant surge has come at a cost to the communities, nonprofits and agencies that have been helping those in their care.
Starting now, they can apply for $110 million in reimbursement funds through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.

A $17,800 federal grant from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program will be distributed to organizations that provide emergency shelter and food, according to the United Way. The Champaign County Emergency Food and Shelter Board will determine how the funds are awarded. The board’s next meeting is on March 16 at 10 a.m. and will be held virtually via GoToMeeting. The Emergency Food and Shelter guidelines specify that the grants may be awarded to government or private groups that have a nonprofit status, have an accounting system and checking account, provide a DUNS number, provide services and use other resources in the community, conduct an annual audit, do not discriminate, show the ability to deliver emergency food or shelter and, for private groups, have a volunteer board. ....
