Gov. Evers Makes Wisconsin State Government Go Woke

Wisconsin is facing many challenges, but for Gov. Tony Evers, there’s no question about what needs to be the top priority.
“We have to make sure that we’re making equity and inclusion the most important issue in state government,” Evers said during the Governor’s Advisory Council on Equity and Inclusion meeting on Feb. 19, 2021.
Gov. Evers didn’t come up with that idea on his own. It’s the same Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) agenda liberals everywhere are pushing. Some call this “being woke.”
Diversity and inclusion might sound good at first, but to liberals those words are only tools in first demonizing and then fundamentally transforming America and our way of life. They give a hint at their ultimate goal when bringing up equity. ....

Evers Pushes Juvenile Justice System Changes

Offenders who are 17 years old wouldn’t be automatically treated as adults in Wisconsin’s criminal justice system under a proposal by Gov.
That is one piece of Evers’ proposed state budget, which includes an overhaul to the state’s criminal justice system that has several changes to how youth are sentenced and receive treatment.
“Our justice system has put a strain on our state both in terms of costs for corrections and lack of investment in rehabilitation, treatment, and alternatives to incarceration,” Evers said during his budget address Tuesday. “We can’t keep throwing taxpayer dollars into a system that doesn’t help our state or our people thrive.” ....
