Kaohsiung, April 27 (CNA) Kaohsiung is hoping to complete the drilling of seven wells by the end of this month to provide much-needed water to the city amid a serious drought, the city government said Tuesday.
When completed, the seven wells are expected to provide 21,000 cubic meters of groundwater a day, which will be channeled to the Chengqing Lake Reservoir via underground pipes, it said.
According to Tsai Chang-jhan (蔡長展), director-general of the city s Water Resources Bureau, two wells have already been dug since late Monday after work began the previous day. ....
